Ancient History
Richard studied archaeology, travelled the globe and then went on to work in the City after graduation. In 1992 he embarked on a new journey when he took over Navillus. Having already developed an experienced perspective on promotional advertising, Richard had a desire to offer a personal service that was both unique and innovative.
Tamara worked at Navillus in 2006 as the business began to grow. A new generation within the company quickly developed. While completing a Master’s degree in Late Antique and Byzantine Studies she worked with artists and musicians and then went on to work at the Royal Opera House before re-joining as a Director in 2014.
Present Day
Richard and Tamara have assembled a dedicated team that epitomises attention to detail, a passion for quality, and a commitment to delivering customer satisfaction. Together they bring a wide range of interests and experience to Navillus, along with creativity, endless enthusiasm and resourcefulness. That combination paid off at the 2023 BPMA awards when we were honored with one of the prestigious 'Distributor of the Year' awards.
Experience and connections
Richard has over 30 years experience in promotional marketing and in that time has developed strong professional relationships with the UK's leading product suppliers and print specialists. He currently sits on the board of the British Promotional Merchandise Association, the professional body serving the UK promotional products industry, and is a member of their Research & Insights working group. This invaluable connection provides us with access to current trends in branded merchandising, including the coolest new products, cutting-edge branding techniques, and the latest in sustainability initiatives. It also ensures that every promotional item not only promotes your brand effectively but also complies with both the industry's regulations and its highest expectations.
Serious about sustainability
At Navillus, sustainability is at the core of our mission. We've invested in carbon tracking and carbon offsetting schemes and we've curated a product line of what we call mindful merchandise, an eco-conscious selection of items made from recycled, organic or bio-derived materials. We partner and champion innovative manufacturers that focus on reducing their environmental impacts, favouring UK-based suppliers wherever possible, in part to minimise transportation distances.
In terms of the future we've committed to offering a complete range of sustainable branded products by 2026, ensuring a price-matched greener alternative for every product we provide. We strongly believe that promotional merchandise can not only be made sustainably but that it has a key role to play in getting investment into the research and development of sustainable manufacturing.
