The Navillus Clissold Park Signs Project
Clissold Park Project - how Navillus created stunning printed company signs and graphics for Clissold Park in Hackney. Find out how we designed these impressive signs from start to finish in this modern and beautiful London park.
Design Approach:
Basic initial graphics were used to generate a wider range of concepts. This was a completely bespoke job, from the first brief to concept development, design, site surveys, manufacture and installation. The design involved understanding the concept and visual representation to bring the signs to life within the context of the environment. We looked at existing park and open space sign systems in and around London and felt that there was a real need for a new clean modern and easy to maintain signage system and so set about designing one.
How sketch ideas were turned into 3D models:
We involved sketch ideas, researched trends and manufacturing capabilities within the budget allocated. The sketch ideas went through unlimited revisions to create the right signs for the environment. They were then turned into 3D models to generate photo-realistic images of the concept to show within the environment. The 3D design element was broken down into part modelling, reverse engineering into a 2D CAD drawing to work out the exact dimensions, materials, components and fixings. Graphics were redrawn into the correct formats for final production.
Sign Manufacture Details:
3mm welded Aluminium trays throughout that will not bend or buckle, and can be powder coated to match corporate colours.
For this urban public park, anti-graffiti laminate is used thoughout to ensure that signs can be easily cleaned if subject to spraying or marker pen.
Full colour graphics are supplied with UV safe inks that do not fade in sunlight or adverse weather and are designed for longevity for up to 10 years.
Welcome Monolith Signs are fully freestanding and have hidden fixtures and fittings that are only accessible from the inside and so lessen the likelihood of damage and vandalism.
Strong aluminium D shaped posts are used, with a concrete base and bitumen seals.
There is a 300mm ground clearance to allow debris to pass through and not collect around the base.
Facility Signs that are fence or gate mounted with 8 steel screw sets and rubber housing are especially designed to protect little hands from sharp edges.
Directional Signs smart and sleek with up to 6 fingers, each individually designed to be angled at 365 degrees.
All signs are uniquely and sequentially numbered and fully mapped for management and ongoing maintainence by Navillus.
