Going Greener with Organic Cotton

Mantis were among the first manufacturers to champion the use of organic cotton back in 2005. Organic cotton is grown without harmful additives and is a more sustainable and eco-friendly option. Its cultivation enhances soil quality, minimises water consumption, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, promoting healthier ecosystems and safeguarding the well-being of farmers and their communities. Today Mantis use 100% Organic Cotton, or In-Conversion Cotton where the cotton is grown & harvested in the years between a farmer adopting full organic practices, and achieving organic certification. Mantis also use high-cotton-content blends of organic cotton and recycled polyester for a hybrid ethical hard-wearing garment.

Organic cotton is an excellent choice for clothing because the fibres are stronger and more durable than regular cotton fibres, which means that garments made from organic cotton tend to last longer. It also creates a fabric that is soft and breathable, and less likely to cause allergic reactions because it is free from harmful chemicals and synthetic substances that can irritate the skin.
