Saying no to disposable drinkware

Every year, billions of disposable coffee cups end up in landfill, contributing to plastic pollution and environmental waste. Switching to a reusable cup is a great way to cut down on single-use plastics and reduce your carbon footprint, and now with the arrival of the Foamo Takeaway Coffee Cup making this switch has never been easier.

What's more, most UK coffee chains currently either discount their drinks directly or provide double stamps on their loyalty cards for any customer who brings their own drinkware, so there's real practical benefits to making that switch ASAP!

What makes Foamo so green?

Foamo is a brand new plastic material developed and made in the UK with sustainability in mind. To minimise the use of petrochemicals created from fossil fuels, Foamo is derived from plant-based materials like waste cooking oil that would otherwise go to landfill. An innovative post-mould foaming process then expands the material resulting in cup that is very lightweight without compromising strength. The carbon footprint is further reduced by manufacturing the cups at a specialist facility at the Tyseley Energy Park in Birmingham, where renewable energy sources are exploited for every stage of production. Finally, because the cup is delivered to you from within the UK, the environmental impact of transport is kept to a minimum along with the journey times.

Overall, compared to a similar cup made the conventional way from regular plastics, the Foamo cup:

  • Reduces plastic usage by 50%
  • Uses 85% less virgin material
  • Reduces the carbon footprint by 20 times

Practical and built to last

There are many good reasons why the Foamo is a solid practical choice for a reusable cup. The expanded foam process that underpins the cup's manufacture results in a low density material that is both lightweight, durable and strong. It's also naturally insulating so it keeps your drink hotter for longer without the need for additional insulation, such as an extra sleeve, to trap the heat. The material is easy to clean and dishwasher safe, free of harmful chemicals such as BPAs, and ultimately when it does finally reach the end of its useful life, it's fully and easily recyclable via your recycling bin at home.

So with its sleek, spill-resistant design and ergonomic feel, the Foamo cup is the perfect choice for your morning commute or working from your favourite café.
