BPMA Walk to the Moon for Comic Relief
We're walking to the moon in March for Comic Relief
Navillus are proud members of The British Promotional Merchandise Association and this spring we have all teamed up with Comic Relief to help raise money.
This year Red Nose Day is on 21 March 2025, and the BPMA and Comic Relief both share big birthdays: it was 60 years ago that our trade association was founded and 40 years ago Comic Relief was launched in 1985
Comedy scriptwriters Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry were the creative minds behind the concept. British comedians came together to make the public laugh, whilst raising money to help people in need in Africa, and at home in the United Kingdom.
This year the Navillus team have taken on the challenge to walk up to 10000 steps a day - it's going to be tough but with spring around the corner, it is time to head off to Greenwich Park and enjoy the daffodils and hopefully some Spring sunshine!
BPMA Step Up for Comic Relief
Red Nose Day, Comic Relief's annual bonanza of charitable giving, is happening on Friday 21st March, and this year we've decided to do our bit to raise money for Comic Relief's wide array of worthy causes while also getting our steps in!
The British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA), the trade body representing distributors, suppliers and service providers in the promotional products industry, is partnering with Comic Relief to raise as much money as possible for Red Nose 2025. They're starting this partnership with this simple walking challenge, a sponsored walk... TO THE MOON!
Walking to the Moon
The idea is for a collective effort from BPMA members to raise sponsorship with a combined walking challenge equal to the distance from the earth to the moon. Here's the numbers...
- Distance to the moon: 238,000 miles
- Equivalent number of steps: 477 million
There are around 1500 people who work for BPMA member companies who are ready to get involved. With a target of 10,000 steps a day each, that means we can get there in just over 30 days!
So not only are we all benefitting our health with daily brisk walks we're also helping out charities that tackle poverty, hunger, poor healthcare, and homelessness, across the world and here in the UK.
We would love you to help...
